We are a small team with great ambition, based in Hong Kong.
As a bunch of book lovers, we take a lot of inspirations from books. In fact, the whole idea of “the mover” is a result of tons of inspirations we took from some books we love (which you can check them out from here) When we started our venture, we have faced doubts from almost everyone when we first introduced them the movers: How are you going to compare to Google Calendar?
It is easy to compare the movers with digital applications like Google Calendar, however, we do not intend to replace digital devices, in fact, they are awesome for information storage. But we do believe that tactile things are better in processing thoughts. Remember how we used to jot down our ideas and brainstorm it on a piece of paper before technology trend is wide-spread? Mind-mapping is one of the prototype of the movers, it diagram the connections between pieces of information in a nonlinear manner supposed to be analogous to the way your brain stores information. Here, the mobility of movers is a function depicting informations in a nonlinear manner – as the way it is in our brain. This, is how we are going to be the supplementary way for an organized life.
More importantly, in the world of overwhelming informations, we notice one thing: it’s harder to get things done. We have so much distraction from our electronic devices, how are we supposed to stay focused if there are constant messages pop-up windows on our phone while we are trying to check the to-do list? Therefore, we wanted to make something you can see at a glance, and something that reminds us “Hey! We need to focus on what’s needed to be done here”. Successful people manage to see the smallest detail, as well as the big picture, here we think the movers as the details of one goal, and how you align or prioritize them is the big picture you get.
“Focus” means staying concentrated at one particular goal, one particular mission, the key to success while eliminating the unnecessaries, and keeping the most crucial thing, keeping our to-do list short, because if your to-do list contains everything, then it’s probably taking you everywhere but where you really want to go. That’s why we make “MoverBook” with just two pages to encourage our users to eliminate redundant tasks, try to keep the list simple and clean, and only keep things that matter. Stay simple, stay focused.
To succeed, always remember that the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. To be creative, we should be able to look through the trend, and see the big picture. The movers, are designed based on all these principles. Our message is simple, we want to help people get things done.
